Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 Photography Review: Flowers, Portrait and Wide-Angle Examples

Owing a few Panasonic Lumix lenses for my G7 I have expanded the family with the Panasonic Lumix 20mm f/1.7. I am very exited about the photographic ability of this lens. For video as I showed in a previous post it isn’t the best, but for various types of photography it is an awesome lens.

A lovely building comprised of 4 houses.
f/4, 1/640s, ISO 200, EV -0.7
The lens is very suitable for portrait photography and yields great focus and bokeh as demonstrated by my model friend. The raindrops on his hoodie are very sharp. I focussed on the hoodie therefore his eyes are out of focus. In the background is his partner in the green hoodie.
f/2.5, 1/250s, iso200, 45mm

To conclude, the first couple of shots with the 20mm have really surprised me and I can really recommend it to anybody. If I compare it with the 25mm there are few differences but both are excellent to add to your collections and use freely.

In the next post I will be discussing the Olympus 45mm another surprisingly good lens.
